Favorite Places: Old Sheldon Church

Next stop on my tour of my favorite places in South Carolina is the Old Sheldon Church, down in Beaufort County. This is right of U.S. Highway 17, about two miles south of Gardens Corner.

The church was burned once during the Revolution and again during the Civil War. If you've got a spare 15 minutes when traveling between Beaufort and I-95, it's worth checking out.

Earl, it just goes to prove, being burned down twice, that Europeans and Yankees hate churches and Christianity.

PS anon 2, does your mommy know you're looking at porn on the internet?

This is a nice site to look at for sure seen it many times. Last week Bobby and Jean Claire called me from Yemassee and this is one of the places they were talking about. One of the old places in Williamsburg county burned today the S A Guerry and Son store in the Millwood Community it had been operated for more than a 100 years with no closure except Sundays.

I've only seen 2 of your favorite places post (the waterfall and this one), but I'd love to see them both.

The Old Sheldon Church is a beautiful place, both in pictures and in person! Especially in person at night! There is just no other way to describe it other than beautiful!!

I have fallen in love with the Sheldon Church. Do you know whether there is a picture available anywhere of it before it was burned? Please reply to
