A message to Senator Mike Rose
Maite Murphy is well-known and respected Summerville attorney and former 1st Judicial Circuit prosecutor. She has a strong work ethic and when in consideration for a 1st Circuit judicial seat, she was found qualified by the South Carolina Bar review panel. While she did not make it through the JMSC screening process, we believe her experience and enthusiasm for public service is too valuable to let go to waste.
We understand that Murphy may be seeking a magistrate's appointment in Dorchester County. If so, Murphy is well-qualified to serve and her appointment to such a post would do a great service for the people of Dorchester County.

If you can connect me financially to either of the Murphys or their law firm, I'd love to see your proof. For that matter, show where I've had any financial relationship with anything or anyone I've discussed on this blog.
It's put up or shut up time.
If that's the best they can do, then laugh away and come on over for a beer before the end of the year.
If you're gonna sell out, then you've gotta learn how to SELL.
Whether Earl is paid or not is not relevant in regards to Ms. Murphy. She is the true deal. Anyone would be proud to have her on the bench or anywhere for that matter.
Did anyone think that perhaps the sheriff needed a thorn? Or that Ms. Murphy had such power over her husband?
Focus on what matters...persons on the bench that are legally trained and have compassion!
Do you really think Rose is going to listen to who you support? The team he has around him is very good and very loyal. Two things to Rose you have not shown in the past. Think about that before you use your blog to try to influnce a person who isnt influnced by you to try to make yourself look important in Dorchester County.
If you knew Summerville as well as you do, then you would know who I supported for the Senate in the fall contest. The Senator knows who I supported.
Maybe I have some degree of influence, maybe I don't. That would depend upon who you ask in this town. As to importance - maybe that matters to you, but since you didn't put your name next to your words, you're probably not very important.
Have a nice day, loser.
Quit picking on Earl. He too, is fine and upstanding. Rock on, Earl!!!
Senator Rose has the experience to succeed - it's just a question of how far he will go to reach out and bring on board enough of his opposition to build an unbeatable coalition for a likely 2012 race.
I don't know who is on his review committee, but it's encouraging to see him accepting outside inputs on these offices, as well as committeed to ending the carryover tradition.
I looked back at a posting comment that I'm sure ol' Swamp Fox overlooked:
Why did you leave out the Senate race in your backyard? The Mike Rose - Bill Collins race the most interesting and closest watched because even if Bill gets 40 percent he changes the political landscape. It's understandable though that you left it out since you are just part of the Republican establishment who is holding their nose and backing Rose.
To which you responded:
Anon, you really shouldn't jump to conclusions unless you know who and what you're talking about.
The last time I looked, 40 percent ain't even close, which is about what I'd expect Collins to get. Since nobody expects Collins to win, it doesn't count as a race worth watching.
Why don't you take your Democratic Party loyalties and/or your hate trip for Mike Rose, and go sling mud at the candidate instead of wasting your time with a blogger who has more readers in Columbia than Summerville?
It was clear to me at the Lowcountry Republican Breakfast, prior to the primary, at Kelly's BBQ in Summerville that you not only supported Randy Scott but mocked Senator Rose by laughing at him when he got up to make his speech. You also bowed your head as if he were some kind of an embarrassment and should just go away. I don't know you and dont wish to post this to insult you in anyway. But it was obvious that you did not initially support Mike Rose for Senator. I am not sure if that was because Randy Scott was the incumbent or if it was because you considered Mike Rose to be a nuisance. Either way it would be nice if you just came out with the truth about why you changed your mind in the fall? Was it because you felt Senator Rose was the best candidate or because the other guy you had supported lost in the primary?
Thanks
You say I supported Randy Scott - prove it. You'll be looking a long time to find such proof.
In fact, if you took a moment to search for the key words "Mike Rose" on my blog, you would find that I expressed my position very clearly on May 7 ("Senate Upsets in the Making" again on June 10 ("Primary in the Blogland").
... now where in those comments do you get any indication that I ever supported Randy Scott?
I'll be awaiting your answer. Maybe while you're at it, you can tell me why all of my critics don't have the balls to put their real names with their comments?
I could not agree with you more. Maite' is one of the finest prosecutors I have worked with and she would make an excellent Magistrate!
I hate to be the one to point this out but Senator Scott was arrested for DUI in April before your May 7th Blog. If you didnt change your mind after that incident then you were the only one. That's a weak validation.
Thanks
I have offended them greatly, it seems, and they think they can make my blog their kangaroo court. They threw their pissy whiny accusations, I countered with hard facts, and they can't stand it.
What they dislike most about me is that I don't hate like them, don't carry grudges, and know when to quit beating a dead horse.
I'm moving on. If any of them want to post further comments, I'm not approving them. The dead horse is now buried.
