Joe Biden event report
Earlier today, Vice President Joe Biden came to Columbia to help out his good tool, House (No) Budget Committee Chair John Spratt by appearing at a campaign fundraiser at the State Museum.
But a lot of those who greeted them - up to 300 at one point - weren't there to show their support for Spratt or Biden, but rather to protest their rampant spending and borrowing. Of the many signs waved by protestors, Fair Tax and "Sack Spratt" signs were the most prominent ones.
Contrary to Biden's claim that "", several event attendees were seen hurling insults out their car windows at the protestors as they left the event. In one instance, accusing the protestors of being racist. To each insult, the protestors showed considerable restraint by wishing them a good weekend and asking them to drive carefully on the way home.It was noted that Biden opted to enter the event from the rear of the building, earning the nickname "Backdoor Biden" by event organizers. We're sure it was for convenience's sake ... yeah, right.
We'd like to give credit to the guy who helped pull this event together: Jeff Betsch, a Midlands Tea Party organizer. Betsch had plenty of praise for those involved:

Considering the obstacles we had: six days to plan, the heat and the event being on a weekday, it was amazing the energy that went into it. The hundreds of people from all over the state who helped promote this thing and rally to make their voices heard. The most inspiring thing was the unity, how well we worked together and how powerful our voices can be when we're unified.
If the roles were reversed, we're betting that far more attention would be given to both the nasty conduct of the event attendees and the restraint of the protestors.
