Clements the latest Democrat to turn chicken?

The Pee Dee region is well known for being a place for poultry. While most of them won't be seen or heard from except for Sunday dinner, one of those chickens has a name:

12th Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements

Clements joins other Democrats who've adopted what the Blogland has termed "Chicken Rules" - rules in which they seek to hide their resumes and other inconvenient truths, as well as avoid the public spotlight.

Clement earns this honor by not responding to a debate invite from the campaign of Rose Mary Parham, a veteran federal prosecutor:

Florence, South Carolina – September 16, 2010 – Former Assistant United States Attorney and Republican 12th Circuit Solicitor candidate, Rose Mary Parham, today challenged 12th Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements to a series of debates between now and election day on November 2nd.

“I think the voters of Florence and Marion counties are owed an explanation as to why Solicitor Clements office is ranked as the second worse solicitor’s office in the entire state,” said Rose Mary Parham. “According to official court records in Columbia, 57% of the criminals arrested by police are not being prosecuted and have been allowed to return back into our communities and neighborhoods. Currently, there are more than 6200 pending cases waiting for trial. This is wrong and voters are owed an explanation and the best format would be in a series of debates.”

Considering they both live and work in Florence, and that they're both going in front of the voters in less than two months, we find it interesting that 1) Clements had not already been planning to face Parham, thus ready to respond quickly and 2) has yet to respond to this invitation.

Is this what the residents of Florence and Marion County would want him to do?

Earl, you may have gotten away with playing coy and evasive over Haley, but we're not going to let you do that now.

People are starting to figure you out when it comes to your women and we know you are having an affair with Parham's campaign manager. We have the proof, don't lie. Admit it or we'll out you.

Earl, I don't believe that. The truth be known, if she was ever involved with you, she'd cheat on you WITH her husband. We have the proof.

@ A. Nonie Moose,.....‎I have heard it said "Consistency is only a virtue if you're not a screwup."

Keep saying Parham "misrepresents the assistant solicitors' record"......

When Rose Mary is really talking about the elected Solicitor's management skills.

And please keep talking about "love affairs"....cause apparently the voters just love it when the political establishment does that.
