Bachmann campaign attacks another reporter
It looks like the Presidential campaign of Michele Bachmann is getting known for it's "hands-on" approach to media relations.
Several weeks ago, at a campaign event in Aiken, a reporter with ABC reported being shoved when attempting to ask the candidate a question:
Network news senior vice president Jeffrey Schneider said reporter Brian Ross was shoved Tuesday as security tried to block him from the Minnesota congresswoman while he asked whether she had to miss votes because of migraines.
Yesterday, a reporter with CNN was reportedly attacked by Bachmann campaign staffers, as well as the candidate's husband, while at the Iowa State Fair, the location of the Ames Straw Poll:
It looks like the Bachmann campaign is starting to show a pattern of attacking reporters who ask questions. We've already noted her disdain for the freedom of speech and state's rights, but it looks like another Constitutionally-protected freedom, freedom of the press, may be on her hit list as well.
As both CNN staffers tried to question Bachmann, Lemon said he was pushed by two members of Bachmann’s staff. Lemon also said that Marcus Bachmann, the congresswoman’s husband, pushed him.
“She came out, after speaking for just a couple minutes,” Lemon said. “There were other reporters and cameras there. And I asked her very respectful questions: ‘How do you think you did in the debate last night?’ and ‘How do you think you’re going to end up in the Ames Straw Poll?’ And her two campaign aides started elbowing me.”
Lemon continued: “I told them, asked them not to elbow me. And then her husband Marcus started doing the same thing. And then he elbowed me into the cart. And I said, ‘You just pushed me into the cart.’ And he goes, ‘No, you did it yourself.’
