A great week to be Curtis Loftis
While State Treasurer Curtis Loftis is well-known for having an often-upbeat personality, the last week in the Treasurer’s office has given him even more reason to be cheerful.
Last week, Loftis got good news twice. On Wednesday, the Attorney General cleared Loftis of pay-to-play allegations regarding state retirement investments. Then on Friday, he announced the outcome of a review of the state’s bank account contracts, which saved nearly a million dollars in annual fees.
This week, the good news continues with an announcement that Loftis and the State House leadership are teaming up to work on maintaining South Carolina's AAA bond rating, a position held by only fifteen states, which allows the state to borrow money for lower rates.
We're sure there's more good news to come ...
