About Earl

Earl Capps is the publisher of two blogs: The Blogland of Earl Capps, a blog which focuses on South Carolina politics, and Earl Capps: On The Job, a blog which discusses subjects related to human resources and safety in the Carolinas construction industry.

A native of the South Carolina Lowcountry, he is a double-graduate of the College of Charleston with a BA and MA in Communication. In addition to his work as an HR and Safety manager for a Charlotte-based retail and distribution company, he has been an adjunct professor and guest lecturer at several colleges in the Carolinas, including his alma mater, teaching course material in the field of communication. A passionate safety advocate, he is also a Red Cross instructor who holds a whole slew of safety certifications, and is even licensed to transport radioactive materials (but doesn't do it very often).

Among the many things in his life for which he is thankful, he is most thankful for his wife Greta, his four daughters, a son-in-law and a granddaughter. Since he met his wife, he adopted her family's Jewish faith tradition as his own.

In his spare time, he enjoys reading, traveling for heavy metal concerts, looking for good BBQ, and has been known to sleep occasionally.
