The Blogland appreciates its readers and gives them opportunities to share their news, views and creative works on the blogsite. We want to thank those who've submitted contributions and let you know a little bit more about some of our more regular contributors. If you'd like to submit anything for publication in the Blogland, either as a single article or you're interested in contributing on a regular basis, email me and let me know

Per our full-disclosure practices, all articles that are submitted and published will include the author's name. Those who submit on a regular or semi-regular basis will be allowed to include a short bio so our readers can learn more about them.

Bill Connor, Writer:

Mr. Connor is the Chair of the Sixth Congressional District Republican Party, and an attorney and law firm partner in Orangeburg, where he lives with his wife of over 20 years, Susan, and their three children: Peyton, Brenna and Will. A graduate of the Citadel and USC Law School, Bill is Chairman of the Board at Orangeburg Christian Academy and serves as the Senior Instructor/State coordinator for the Command and General Staff Officers' Course (ILE) in South Carolina. 

In 2008, Bill returned from a yearlong combat deployment in Southern Afghanistan, where he served as Joint Operations Officer for the Southern Region of Afghanistan developing and implementing the US advisory effort for Afghan National Security Forces and was the senior American working with the United Kingdom senior staff. Upon return from Afghanistan, he published the book “Articles from War,”a memoir of his experiences and thoughts in Afghanistan.

The Blogland first got to know Bill when he ran for Lieutenant Governor in 2010, making it into the GOP run-off in one of the year's biggest political surprise bids.

Jamie Walton, Cartoonist:

Mr. Walton, who lives in Rock Hill with his wife Josette, is a retired Lt. Colonel from the U.S. Army. A native of Lexington, South Carolina, he graduated from the Citadel with a B.S. in Chemistry and USC with an MA in Journalism. He served in Vietnam and Korea as an infantry officer, and later as public affairs officer of Fort Jackson, SC, US Army Europe, and the Military District of Washington, DC.   He has cartooned for the Stars and Stripes Newspaper, the Lexington Dispatch, the State Newspaper and the Chester News and Reporter.

The Blogland first got to know the Waltons during the 2010 campaign of Congressman Mick Mulvaney, who upset then Congressman John Spratt in the Fifth Congressional District.
